For this demonstration we use our Sakura (8 cup) rice cooker. Note that the recipe can be easily adjusted to scale for use in our other sized rice cookers.
Ingredients required for 8 cup Sakura model:
1 tbsp groundnut oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cinnamon stock, split lengthways
3/4 tsp cumin powder
2 cardamom pods
2 tsp ground tumeric
6 cloves
1 pinch fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
2 cups long grain white rice
